Just northeast of Philadelphia's city center is a neighborhood along the banks of the Deleware River called Fishtown. Traditionally a working class, Irish neighborhood, today Fishtown is experiencing a large influx of young professionals and a new sense of vibrancy. It's also home to Philadelphia Distilling and the country's best distillery bar.
But more on that in a second.
Philadelphia Distilling is dedicated to craftsmanship and a process that blends art and science to create spirits that are "Revolutionary." After a decade of work in an original warehouse, they've put their distilling process on display in a new distillery where guests can watch spirits being made -- and taste the revolutionary results.
The key part here is in the tasting.
The distillery likes for guests to experience fine spirits. Just this spring, they even opened up a pop-up bar garden to celebrate their national launch of Bluecoat Elderflower Gin, and their standard bar menu includes classics like the Manhattan along with contrived favorites like the Pensylvania Punch and the Dutch Courage No. 4.
Now back to the "country's best: part...
Philadelphia Distilling recently won the Best Distillery Bar of the Year Award from the Nightclub and Bar Media Group, an award that recognizes an elite class of industry trailblazers and venues from across the nation that has shown expertise and innovation in evolving the nightclub and bar industry.
“Every year, the Nightclub & Bar Awards are presented to the top movers and shakers of the industry, and it is remarkable to see how these individuals and venues are changing the face of the hospitality world,” said David Klemt, Editor, Nightclub & Bar.
We are thrilled to see Philadelphia Distilling receive such a high honor. The award-winning bar includes two Tobin Ellis Signature Cocktail Stations which from the looks of their cocktail menu, are getting good use.
